Between 2000 and 2016, the performance of the IANA functions was governed by contracts between ICANN and the US Government's National Telecommunications and Information Administration.

KSK Termination Plan (2010)
As a deliverable, ICANN produced a document describing the termination plan for the Root Zone Key Signing Key (KSK). This document undergoes periodic reviews and may be revised and updated as appropriate.
Community Consultations (2012-2013)
In performing the IANA functions, we were required to perform a number of public consultations on certain aspects of how these functions are performed. These consultations are spelled out in IANA Functions Contract SA1301-12-CN-0035, and were conducted between October 2012 and mid-2013.
